Enzyme
The enzymes are proteins, or complex proteins, which enable the slowing down or the acceleration (up to millions of times) of the chemical reactions of the metabolism which take place in the cellular or extra-cellular environment. The enzymes work at a low level of concentration and remain intact at the end of the reaction: they are biological catalysers.
Epidermis
The most superficial level of the skin. In direct contact with the outside world, the epidermis is our organism’s first barrier of protection. It plays a role in sensory perception, regulation and regeneration.
Essential fatty acids (AFEs)
The linoleic acid C18:2 of Omega 6 and the alphalinoleic acid C18:3 of Omega 3 are both polyunsaturated. They are the two essential precursors of the two fatty acids. They are present in majority in certain vegetal oils and in a lesser quantity in margarines prepared with these oils. They play a structural role in the cell membranes and have numerous functional roles.
