Keratin is an insoluable protein that can be mainly found in our skin but also as a main component of our phaners (hair, nails and the hair on our body). It protects our hair from exterior aggression.
This protein contains a high level of sulfured amino acids, mainly cysteine, which form disulfur bridges between the molecules. Human hair is made up of about 14% of cysteine. We thus can understand why it is necessary to have a regular intake of proteins that are rich in sulphur in order to preserve the hair’s quality.
